January.1841 - March.1895

Born in Bourges..France.

Portrait of Berthe Morisot by Edouard Manet.

One of my favourite Impressionist artists.

I went to an exhibition in London last year and to

my surprise there were quite a few Berthe Morisot paintings.

Normally her art is hidden away amongst the other great Impressionists.

One of the resons why I like her so much is that

her paintings have a kind of 'light touch'.

You feel that you can relate to them.

She painted the simple everyday things of life and turned

them into magical paintings.

'Women at her Toilette'

'On the Veranda'

'Young lady sitting on a sofa'

'Drying Laundry'

'The Cradle'

''Thatched Cottage in Normandy'

'Hide and Seek'

'On the Balcony'

This is just a very small sample of Berthe Morisot paintings.

Hope that you have enjoyed looking at them.

I would like to add that Renoir is my all time favourite Impressionist.
